The Russian Children's ombudsman, Paves Astakhov, has in 2014 been actively involved in the many cases of forcefully split Russian families in Norway.

Norwegian violations in the media
Many nationalities suffer from attacks on their family-life in Norway. Some families are forced to leave the country without their children. Others are forced to stay in the country against their will as their children are forced to stay in the country.
Protests have been organized world-wide against the callous policy of splitting families.
Sweden
The state policy of forceful child removal, has affected a number of Swedish families, as Norway is the home of many Swedish immigrant workers.

Also the Latvian community in Norway are desperate to help their children back to their families, from Norwegian foster-homes, where they are denied continuous contact with their families, culture, religion and language, as a disturbing number of children of immigrants from other countries as well.

The forceful removal of Indian children, has resulted in diplomatic issues, recently as far as His Excellence Mukherjee the president of India.
